Composite materials based on polylactide and hydroxyapatite were produced. Mechanical tests were carried out to compress the initial samples and composite materials, which showed that hydroxyapatite cracked under stress and was a very fragile material. In composite materials polylactide were used as polymer matrix and hydroxyapatite as inorganic filler. Such materials deform under stress without cracking. At a load of 370 MPa, the deformation reaches 50 %. Investigation have shown that the polylactide and composite materials under load strongly deform, but do not break. The obtained materials can be recommended as biocompatible composite materials for new bone implants.
