Description: The work is devoted to remote sensing droplet clouds by coaxial lidar. The results of numerical modeling of the distribution of polarization ellipse parameters of lidar returns in the double-scattering approximation are discussed. It is shown that the polarization state of sounding radiation transforms from a linear (or circular) to the elliptical at the study droplet clouds. © (2015) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
