Description: The biomass of terrestrial invertebrates contains a variety of nutrients in biologically active forms. Nutritionally enriching farmed invertebrate species can increase the content of specific vitamins and minerals in their biomass. Consuming enriched invertebrate biomass can address the interdependence and antagonism of vitamins and minerals, supply bioactive forms of vitamins and minerals for the metabolism of young farm animals and improve protein assimilation by facilitating the simultaneous intake of minerals and vitamins. It can also be used in cases of impaired intestinal absorption due to disease. Determining the method of preserving the active forms of nutrients in biomass has purely practical applications in animal feeding and human nutrition, helping to overcome pathological or threatening states of vitamin and mineral deficiency.
