В статье рассматривается апория, известная в литературе как «парадокс неожиданного экзамена». Предлагается решение данной апории, основанное на учете того факта, что рассуждения агента изменяют его эпистемическое состояние. Показано, что в традиционных изложениях данной апории видимость парадокса возникает из-за игнорирования каузальной связи между рассуждениями агента и его эпистемическими состояниями.
