Рассматривается, как американская ежедневная газета «The New York Times» освещала переломный момент в истории гражданской войны и интервенции в России – период кризиса Омского правительства адмирала А.В. Колчака. Отмечаются попытки сохранить оптимистический тон, несмотря на очевидные проблемы и отступление антибольшевистских сил. В американской прессе в данный период неоднократно публиковались статьи и сообщения, в которых содержалась критическая оценка ситуации, сложившейся вокруг признания Омского правительства. Делается попытка проследить, какую роль газета «The New York Times» играла в формировании общественного мнения в поддержку правительства адмирала А.В. Колчака.
