The composition and properties of the soil of cedar forests of the Tom-Yaya interfluve are considered. It has been shown that soils are polygenetic, have passed several stages of soil formation throughout the long history of development in the conditions of a changing bioclimatic situation and have a complex humus profile bearing information about their contrasting evolution.
